Work Attachment Programme Gets Students Workplace-ready
工作實習計劃為學員作好職場準備
單純的理論學習已不足以為競爭日益熾熱的職場做
好裝備。為加強優勢,不少學生會嘗試在正式就業
之前爭取實習機會。由於大部份的工作實習都是專
為大學生而設,同樣希望加強職業技巧的中學畢業
生很多時未能受惠。為照顧這些零售業年輕學員的
需要,協會積極支持香港浸會大學持續教育學院的
零售業工作實習計劃,並邀請對計劃感興趣的會員
公司參與,為持續教育學院的學生提供體驗工作的
實習機會。

名學員
提供實習機會,他們現正修讀毅進計劃的「零售營
銷證書」。
學員參與工作期間,
Walker Shop
的店舖主管提供工
作指導,並在實習期完結時評估學員的表現。
參與學員和僱主均在工作實習計劃中獲益,對僱主
而言,參加計劃不但可以減輕公司暫時的人手短缺
問題,亦有機會在實習期完結後聘用這些零售業新
力軍。透過提供就業機會,僱主更推動了公司和業
界的企業社會責任。
對參與計劃的同學而言,他們獲得了在零售業工作
的實戰經驗,為未來裝備好自己。
Learning from theories can no longer suffice to equip one for the increasingly
competitive workplace. To enhance one's cutting edge, many try to secure an
internship before they enter the workforce. However, a majority of internship
are made available to university students only, leaving secondary school
leavers who equally wish to sharpen their skills unattended. In order to
cater for the needs of these young aspiring learners in the retail industry, the
Association supports the Retail Industry Attachment Programme developed
by the School of Continuing Education of Hong Kong Baptist University (SCE,
HKBU). The Association acts as a programme partner and invite interested
member retailers to take par t in the programme and of fer workplace
attachment opportunities for SCE students.
A collaboration was successfully established with renowned footwear retailer
Walker Shop. During the period December 2010 to March this year, the
company arranged internship for a total of 10 students who are currently
studying for a Certificate in Retailing of the Project Yi Jin Programme.
During the service period, Walker Shop assigned a supervisor to guide and
monitor the students' progress, and assessed their performance when their
terms ended.
The programme has proved to bring mutual benefits to both participants
and the employer. On the one hand, the employer is able to ease short-
term manpower shortage, while enjoying an opportunity to recruit new
retail entrants after the attachment period. At the same time, the employer
promotes a sense of corporate social responsibility not only within the
company but also in the community.
To the participating students, by having practical exposure in the retail
industry, they can take home rewarding and hands-on experience that will
gear them well in the future.
