In the year 2015, the retail and tourism sectors have entered an
increasingly challenging market environment. Yet, I am very pleased to
see that amidst challenges, both sectors remain spirited and unified in
setting the stage for a sustained rebound.
On the Government side, to invigorate the market and provide timely
support for the retail and tourism trades, we have, through the Hong Kong
Tourism Board, rolled out a series of shopping festivals and promotion
campaigns. With the staunch support of the retail trade, these campaigns,
which aim at drawing more visitors to Hong Kong and boosting retail
spending, have been launched successfully. We will continue to enhance
Hong Kong’s attractiveness, through staging mega events with special
appeals to tourists and expanding our tourist attractions and facilities, for
the long term benefit of the tourism and related trades.
No matter what challenges may lie ahead, quality service is always the
key successful factor in the retail and tourism trades. Throughout its 32
years of service, the Hong Kong Retail Management Association has
upheld a professional and service-oriented culture and led its members to
win tough battles in difficult times. I sincerely thank the Association for its
excellent work for achieving a better economy of Hong Kong.

香港零售行業現時正面對歷來最大的挑戰。內地遊客，尤其個人遊
的大幅下滑和消費模式轉變；歐洲在恐怖襲擊的籠罩下加上非洲難
民潮的衝擊，預期經濟難以在短期內復蘇；外在因素在在為香港零
售行業帶來更多不明朗。
惟外在因素遠不及香港內部問題造成的影響嚴重！針對內地遊客的
行動已經成為打擊零售業的慣伎，部分利用不良手法宰客的不良同
業，更是對香港零售業構成致命打擊，令香港努力建立和竭力保持
的購物天堂名聲受損！
零售行業是香港經濟的支柱產業之一，每年的銷貨總值超過5,000
億港元，聘用接近30萬從業員。要令這龐大產業持續發展，就必須
要穩守香港的聲譽，在這調整期，同業應保持一貫的經營態度，以
優質的服務推銷貨真價實的產品，提供更佳的售後和增值服務，才
是香港應有的好客之道。
香港零售管理協會在過去三十二年，一直以推動高質素的零售服務
為己任。在這經濟調整期，深信協會以及新一屆主席和執行委員，
更能發揮為零售行業訂立高質素服務指標的角色，團結行業共同籌
劃推動經濟、推動刺激零售的活動，攜手協助行業度過低谷，再創
下一個高峰。
